Empowering Our Community Through Culture, Connection, and Care – Celebrating Heritage, Inspiring Togetherness.
Who we are
Somerset Bengali Association (SBA) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to celebrating, preserving, and promoting Bengali culture and heritage in New Jersey and beyond. Rooted in community values, SBA brings together individuals and families through cultural programs, festivals, educational initiatives, and social service efforts.
We were established in 2007, and our very first event was Saraswati Puja in 2008, celebrated with just 45 families. Since then, SBA has grown into a vibrant presence in Central New Jersey, with more and more families joining us each year.
Our mission is to create an inclusive space where people of all ages can connect through language, music, dance, food, and shared traditions. From Saraswati Puja and Durga Puja to Poila Baisakh, summer picnics, and Diwali parties, SBA continues to foster cultural pride while encouraging collaboration, learning, and unity. Looking ahead, we also plan to introduce year-round activities to keep our community engaged and connected.
Whether you’re looking to celebrate your roots, make new connections, or share your love of Bengali culture with the next generation, SBA welcomes you with open arms.
